Publication: “Handbook of Cambodian constitutional law” – 2016

In partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation, the Henri Capitant Association in Cambodia and its members have participated to the drafting  of a publication dedicated to the Cambodian constitutional law.

This work involved many Cambodian and international legal experts, some of whom are active members of our association.

One of them is the Professor Hisham Mousar, member of the Scientific Council and the Executive Board of the Henri Capitant Association in Cambodia, Professor at the Royal University of Law and Economics, who worked on the role and the powers of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s government. Moreover, Doctor Chan Sangvar Theng, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Rural Development and member of the Scientific Council of our association, brought his expertise regarding the Cambodian administration’s system.

This publication will allow the civil society  to better understand the general constitutional framework of the Kingdom, the election and nomination procedures for each institution, fundamental individual rights, and the role of each political actor, and will open a reflection about the lessons that the rest of the world can learn from the Cambodian constitutional exercise.

Fruit of a collaborative work, this book was officially presented on December 22 at the  Hotel Raffles Le Royal (Phnom Penh). It is in public access according to the following link.
